The Eagle’s Story
An eagle can live around 70 years — but not all of them do. After 40 years, it must go through a painful transformation, or it cannot live the remaining 30. Its beak grows thick, its talons dull, its wings and feathers weak. It strikes its thickened beak against a rock to wear it away, plucks out its talons and feathers, and waits for new ones to grow. Only after this transformation can the eagle hunt again — and live another 30 years.
